Bush Relents on Torture

At last! George Bush has finally done something I can give him credit for: he caved in to John McCain’s pressure and has come out in support of the legislation McCain has been trying to get through Congress. I am enough of a cynic to think that yesterday’s surprise vote in the House of Representatives, where 108 Republicans came out against the White House, might have something to do with Bush’s about face. Then again he might actually be opposed to torture! We can always hope!
