Here he goes again. Not content with breaking laws with impunity, now George “Outlaw” Bush pretty much spits at Congress. The Boston Globe has this juicy piece: Bush shuns Patriot Act requirement

That’s right people. Immediately after signing the Patriot Act our fearless leader announces, quietly of course, that he’s going to ignore whatever parts of the law he feels are inconvenient to him. That’s what I like about George: he doesn’t give a bleep. His bold leadership and personal courage in the face of enemy fire are just an awesome sight.

It’s just that I didn’t realize that Congress was the enemy.

And what did those stalwarts over on Capitol Hill do in the face of this lawlessness? Rolled over and trashed the Constitution like a bunch of weenies peeing in their collective corrupt and corporately sponsored pants.

Why bother turning up in Washington if you’re not going to do your job?

And this is supposed to make me feel safer?

You’re kidding, right?

I want to report major threat to our homeland: the Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff. Can we make a citizen’s arrest?

He recently spoke to representatives of the chemical industry and told them he was opposed to legislation that enforced strong security measures. He said he’d prefer to let the industry come up with its own security plans and actions. Now that makes me feel really safe. These are the same folks who have an appalling employee safety record, pollute like crazy notwithstanding the damage to the public, and have done virtually nothing since 9/11 to beef up the protection at their work and storage sites. And we’re going to rely on these fine citizens to protect the public from attacks on their property. That’s dumb. Really dumb. But, hey, at least they did one good thing since 9/11: they gave lots of money to the Republican Party. I don’t suppose there’s a connection here is there?

No. Of course not.

If Michael “Hero of Katrina” Chertoff says we’re safe and sound who am I to disagree? On what basis could I possibly criticise him?

As I said he’s a security threat. Someone should arrest him.

Tell me that this isn’t happening. The Chinese buy IBM’s personal computer line, a transaction that had no opposition at the time, and now find that they may not be able to sell computers to the State Department. This is absurd. Paranoia is running rampant. America needs to get a grip before it shuts down totally because it won’t transact with foreign providers of goods. And I don’t mean to sound too critical but shouldn’t the people who are running around making hay out of things like this computer sale focus on the bigger picture: like who is it that finances America’s consumption habits?

If you’re really worried about those PC’s have someone check them out before handing them to employees. It should be easy to do. Then take a deep breath and come back to reality. At the rate of $2 billion a day those foreigners are propping up America. Kick away that prop and America has far more of a problem than could ever be caused by a few thousand computers.

This is just plain stupidity.
