Never Ending Elections

Can this be true?

Apparently two leading Republicans, in their own estimation, are visiting Iowa to start drumming up support for the 2016 presidential race. Perish the thought, but apparently it is the case. Rand Paul, our very own Ayn Rand advocate, and Ted Cruz the current bad boy of the Senate, are both headed out to the ‘real’ America to get things rolling. Both are part of the crazy wing of the GOP. Both have a long way to go to make headway with any of the grifters and moochers that leech off the good hard working folk of the Midwest, but if their friends out there in the red states can force through enough anti-minority voting restrictions – a.k.a. voter ID laws – the grifters and moochers won’t matter anyway. So it’s only natural that these two begin their odyssey by going to Iowa which is so representative of contemporary American society.

By the way: in GOP speak ‘real America’ means small town, rural, and white America, not the big cities. Those cities, as we all know, are filled with the 47% who do nothing, get handouts, and vote for the Democrats.

So, on second thoughts it makes sense to go Iowa. It full of white evangelicals who form the core of the crazy support the GOP relies on.

No matter. It is just awful that anyone can think about 2016 so soon after our last election. No wonder nothing ever gets done. Our representatives are perpetually running for office and thus too busy to worry about policy action.
