Surveillance Bill Goes Forward
The Bush regime wins again. The supine Senate Republicans who never found an opportunity to protect the Constitution that they didn’t run away from caved in and allowed the examination of Bush’s surveillance program to be done in secret. Well at least the Democrats tried.
Let me see now: the secret folks are ghoing to examine whether the secret police are playing nicely with the constitution. The evidence will be, well secret; and the process will be, er sceret. And the outcome? … well that’ll be secret. Let’s just say that you and I will never know what was said and not said. So this is what the land of the free is all about?
