The House Issues Subpoenas

Now the ground war begins. The House has now issued subpoenas for a host of documents that the Justice Department has hitherto failed to deliver. Here is the document itself as it looks on the house website:Judiciary Committee Subpoena

Read it and remember that Gonzales et al have been asked, politely, for weeks to deliver the documents requested. there have been innumerable meetings at the “staff” level to try to reach an amicable agreement. But Bushco continues its defiance. It continues to try to play down the scandal and it blatant politicization of our legal process.

As Representative Conyers points out, politely, these are “legitimate” requests, and as the recent spate of personnel changes at DoJ suggest something rotten has been going on.

It’s time for a reckoning. So here are the subpoenas.
