Leahy Gets Ready

The people over at Talking Points Memo, who broke the US Attorney Scandal that looks set to engulf Gonzales and others in the Bush regime, make it possible for us to read the letters sent to and from the various investigating committees. Now I read that as a “last chance” type of letter. Leahy is beginning to sound a little upset that Gonzales and his minions have refused so far to comply with the Senate’s legitimate requests. I guess there must be a whole ton of stuff to hide from view. The Bush regime’s tactic seems to be
to stall for time and hope that everyone gets so bored that they forget the enormous corruption hidden up at Justice. More to the point they hope we all forgive the blatant political manipulation of our legal system.

But Leahy doesn’t seem to be forgetting. On the contrary he seems to be plodding along and getting all “lawyerly”, which must be driving Bubka nuts. Look for the sub-poenas to go out Thursday. And then let the games begin.

Nasty thing this democracy. It might just stop a fella from enjoying his run as king. No wonder our monarch-in-chief wanted to export democracy: sending it overseas was so much better than keeping it stateside.
