al-Zarqawi

Well credit due where credit is due: killing al-Zarqawi is a major coup for all those involved. The BBC report can be read here: BBC NEWS | News Front Page

al-Zarqawi was an out and out thug. His sole vision was to spread murder and mayhem, and his supporters – his gang – have been resonsible for some really heinous and deplorable acts. He is now history.

I only wish that his death could somehow offset the carnage he wrought, but it cannot. Nor do I think his departure ends the civil war in Iraq.

But the end of the disgusting al-Zarqawi means that the world is a more civilized place today. Congratulations to all those involved!
