Weakness at the Top?
The Atlantic monthly has a good, short article on why none of the world’s economic problems can really be dealt with at the moment: all the leaders of the most influential economies are politically hobbled in one way or another. The article is here: A Confederacy Of Eunuchs
I think it’s useful to step away from the mire here in the US and realize that most of the big economies are weakly led at the moment. That leaves a disturbing void right at a time when there are growing and potentially highly negative trends in trade. It looks as if we’ll have to hope nothing major goes wrong until our leadership issues are fixed, not just here, but around the globe!
