American Health Care?

Another indictment of the American health care system. CNN picked up this story: U.S. has second worst newborn death rate in modern world, report says – May 9, 2006 This comes hard on the heels of the release last week of a study showing that Americans are clearly less healthy than their English counterparts.

This just plain bad news. When will we get a response from the ‘powers that be’: where is the medical profession? Where is the government? Does anyone care that our health care is both extremely expensive and ineffective?

All I hear so far is silence. A silence punctuated by the death of babies.
